The Green Menu Organization, 560 W. Main St., Suite D, Alhambra, is a non-profit foundation that inspires and promotes education about a healthy lifestyle and a green environment through a vegetarian diet. The revolution of healthy eating of green or plant based food such as vegetables and fruits is becoming more popular as awareness of its benefits are recognized. The Green Menu Organization was founded in 2011 in Arcadia as Great Light Tao, then relocated to Alhambra in 2013 as Green Menu Organization.
“We decided to come to Alhambra because the city is the perfect location to serve Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley,” said Alice Chang, president of Green Menu Organization. “Our goals and mission are to promote vegetarianism and plant based dishes. We work locally and internationally with vegetarian and vegan restaurants to use plant based food. We would like more restaurants to be more involved to help us with educating and promoting.” The Green Menu Organization is solely based on tax deductible donations, and the monetary contributions are spent to make vegetarian dining accessible for the general public.
